This specimen was lot 1069 in Stephen Album internet sale 28 (Santa Rosa, CA, July 2024), where it sold for $36. The catalog description[1] noted, "ITALY: Vittorio Emanuele III, 1900-1946, AE 5 centesimi, 1921-R, a superb lustrous example! PCGS graded MS65 RB." This type was struck 1919-37 and most dates are common, including this one. It superseded KM 42, which was 5 grams. Vittorio Emanuele III succeeded his father Umberto upon the latter's assassination in 1900.
