Israel 1965 5 lirot

from the Stack's Bowers September 2023 Collector's Choice sale, lot 75315

This specimen was lot 75315 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2023), where it sold for $80. The catalog description^[1] noted, "ISRAEL. 5 Lirot, JE 5725 (1965). Utrecht Mint. PCGS PROOF-65. A flashy piece with a small amount of toning near the top of the coin." This NCLT is one of a series struck 1958-67 in this module. The 1963 Seafaring 5 lirot is the only one that is scarce.

Recorded mintage: 25,147 plus 7,537 proofs.

Specification: 25 g, 0.900 fine silver, 34 mm diameter.
