This specimen was lot 1676 in Jean Elsen sale 116 (Brussels, March 2013), where it sold for €1,200 (about US$1,821 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"ILE DE MAN, Elisabeth II (1952- ), Platine 1 noble, 1983, Fleur de Coin (Isle of Man, Elizabeth II (1952-), platinum noble, uncirculated.)"

The Isle of Man lies in the Irish Sea between Britain and Ireland and remains a British dependency. It is famous for motorcycle racing and tailless cats. Token coppers were issued for the island in the eighteenth century but large production did not commence until 1971. About 1980, the island fell under the domination of the Pobjoy Mint, which has minted and marketed dozens of NCLT commemoratives.
