Ireland 1966 10 shillings rev DSLR.jpg

This commemorative, the only one of its denomination, was issued to mark the fiftieth anniversary of the failed Easter Uprising in Dublin, which, among other things, resulted in the execution of Patrick Pearse, depicted on the obverse. It is the largest Irish coin issued for circulation and is the closest thing to a crown from that country.

Recorded mintage: 2,000,000 (most melted).

Specification: 18.14 g, 0.833 fine silver, lettered edge.

Catalog reference: KM 18.
