This specimen was lot 24153 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), where it sold for $60. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRELAND. 1/2 Penny, 1935. PCGS MS-62 RB. Mainly brown." The first Irish half pennies, issued 1928-37, featured the obverse legend "SAORSTAT EIREANN"; the second type, issued 1939-67, merely stated "EIRE." Irish half pennies are common tho this is a better date.
Recorded mintage: 960,000 plus a few proofs.
Specification: 5.67 g, 25.5 mm diameter, bronze.
