This specimen was lot 52399 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $1,020. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRELAND. Penny, 1823. London Mint. George IV. PCGS PROOF-64 Brown. Tied with just one other specimen as the sole representatives in proof seen by PCGS, this near-Gem stunner offers alluring brown surfaces, a razor sharp strike, and some muted brilliance that also yields hues of elegant red."
