This specimen was lot 1160 in Stacks-Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2015), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRELAND. Penny, 1822. PCGS MS-63 BN. EXTREMELY RARE. The only example we have seen of this issue with a reeded edge. Pleasing glossy chocolate brown patina with a areas of blue iridescence." British issues for Ireland in the nineteenth century were erratic and sparse. The one that can be called somewhat common are the half pennies and pennies of 1822-23.
