This specimen was lot 1855 in Steve Album Auction 54 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2026), where it sold for $204. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAQ: Mahmud II, 1808-1839, AE 2 para, Baghdad, AH1223 year 28, Fine, ex Kenneth A. Bovenkamp Collection. Sold on our Auction 7, lot 237." This type was struck year 28 only. Forty para made a kuruş. Iraq was under Turkish rule from the early sixteenth century until the collapse of the Ottomans in 1918.
