This specimen was lot 474 in Steve Album Auction 54 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2026), where it sold for $1,320. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAQ: Mahmud II, 1808-1839, AR 20 para, Baghdad, AH1223 year 22, toughra above mint & date // 4-line legend, VF, RR, ex Kenneth A. Bovenkamp Collection." This type was struck years 17 and 22. Ottoman issues for Iraq are all rare.
