This specimen was lot 473 in Steve Album Auction 54 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2026), where it sold for $288. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAQ: Mahmud II, 1808-1839, AR 20 para, Baghdad, AH1223 year 13, toughra // mint, date, and regnal year, choice VF, RR, ex Kenneth A. Bovenkamp Collection. This type for regnal year 13 has also been considered 40 para (cf. UBK-30.005.01)." This coin may actually be a zolota (30 para). Ottoman issues for Iraq are all rare.
