CNG Lissner sale, lot 519

This specimen was lot 519 in Classical Numismatic Group's sale of the Lissner Collection (Chicago, August 2014), where it sold for $1,694. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAQ, Kingdom. Faisal I. AH 1339-1352/AD 1921-1933. AR Ryal. Dually dated AH 1351 and AD 1932. In NGC encapsulation graded MS 63. Lovely brilliant uncirculated with light mottled toning. None graded higher in mint state. Quite rare this nice. Purchased from Karl Stephens, December 1983." This one year type was the closest thing to a crown issued by Iraq during the monarchy. It is quite scarce in choice condition and this specimen realized over double the catalog value.

Specification: 20 g, 0.500 fine silver. This specimen Ø34 mm, 20.00 g, 12h axis.
