This specimen was lot 2041 in Stephen Album sale 47 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2023), where it sold for $168. The catalog description[1] noted, "SAFAVID: Tahmasp I, 1524-1576, AV heavy 1/2 ashrafi, Tabriz, AH941, numeral '1' of the date below the mint name, VF, RR." The mithqal was a gold coin favored by the first Safavid shahs (Ismail I, Tahmasp I, Muhammad Khudabandah) but was superseded by the ashrafi during the reign of shah Abbas (1587-1629).
