Sincona sale 67, lot 4243

This specimen was lot 4243 in Sincona sale 67 (Zürich, October 2020), where it sold for 500 CHF (about US$658 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"IRAN | Qajar Dynasty, Silver coinage. 1000 Dinars 1327 H. Name above bust half left above wreath, date below, rev. lion and sun above value in wreath. About extremely fine."

This type was struck AH 1326-27 for Muhammed Ali Shah. Another AH 1327 kran exists (KM 1038) struck in the name of Ahmad Shah.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 4.61 g, 0.900 fine silver, this specimen 4.60 g.
