Iran AH 1328 1000 dinars

Stack's Bowers October 2021 Collector's Choice sale, lot 71253

This specimen was lot 71253 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2021), where it sold for $432. The catalog description^[1] noted, "IRAN. Kingdom. 1000 Dinars, AH 1328 (1910). PCGS MS-65. A bright and nearly tone free Gem example with blazing luster." This type was struck AH 1327-1330 and is fairly common. It is about the size of a French franc.

Recorded mintage: unknown but common.

Specification: 4.61 g, 0.900 fine silver, 23 mm diameter.
