Stack's Bowers October 2021 Collector's Choice sale, lot 71253

This specimen was lot 71253 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2021), where it sold for $432. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAN. Kingdom. 1000 Dinars, AH 1328 (1910). PCGS MS-65. A bright and nearly tone free Gem example with blazing luster." This type was struck AH 1327-1330 and is fairly common. It is about the size of a French franc.

Recorded mintage: unknown but common.

Specification: 4.61 g, 0.900 fine silver, 23 mm diameter.
