This specimen was lot 56397 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. Indore. Rupee, AH 1238 Year 70 (1822). Malharnagar Mint. In the Name of Shah Alam II. NGC MS-64. From the Nicholas Fritz Collection." An extensive series of these rupees exist, all struck in the name of the long deceased Mughal emperor. Dates range from AH 1185 (regnal year 12) to AH 1296 (regnal year 122). The SCWC prices them all the same.
