This specimen was part of lot 32814 in Heritage sale 3040 (Chicago, April 2015), which sold for $152.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic Lot of Nine Coins UNC, Many are FAO issues. many are silver. Most promote food and shelter for all." The Indian government became an enthusiastic supporter of the F.A.O. program and issued many F.A.O. coins in the 1970's. This type was minted at the Bombay mint in 1975 to honor International Women's Year.
