This specimen was lot 42250 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $120. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. 1/2 Rupee, 1930-(C). Calcutta Mint. George V. NGC MS-64." This half rupee was struck at the Calcutta mint some years after the end of World War One. It was never minted in the immense numbers of the George V rupees but it is not rare, being struck steadily 1912-30, 1933-36. The minting of rupees effectively ceased after 1922.
Recorded mintage: 2,036,000 plus proofs and restrikes.
