This specimen was lot 46723 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2024), where it sold for $216. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. 1/4 Rupee, 1915-(B). Bombay Mint. George V. PCGS MS-62." This type was struck 1912-20, 1925-30, 1934 and 1936. The 1915 is a scarce date for both mints. In the 1950's and 1960's both mints restruck coins of the Raj for sale to collectors; many restrikes may be distinguished by rusty dies.

Recorded mintage: 2,096,000 plus proofs and restrikes plus 851,000 from Calcutta.

Specification: 2.92 g, 0.917 fine silver, 19 mm diameter, reeded edge.
