This specimen was lot 718 in Steve Album Auction 52 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2025), where it sold for $1,170. The catalog description[1] noted, "HYDERABAD: Afzal-ud-Dawla, 1857-1869, AV mohur, Farkhanda-Bunyad, AH1281 year 8, one tiny testmark on the reverse, not noted on the slab, superb strike, ANACS graded XF45." Hyderabad was one of the few princely states wealthy enough to have an extensive series of gold coins. This type was struck AH 1275-1285.
