This specimen was lot 36137 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2022), where it sold for $660. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. Hyderabad. 1/4 Ashrafi, AH 1318/35 (1901). PCGS MS-64." The Indian princely state of Hyderabad was one of the few large enough and wealthy enough to mint an extensive series of gold coins. The milled type, struck for Mir Mahbub Ali Khan II (AH 1285-1329 or 1869-1911 A.D.), is listed for years 8, 13-31, 38. This hammered type was struck AH 1301, 1304, 1306, 1309, 1314-1319.
