Wikipedia comments, "Miklós Horthy de Nagybánya (18 June 1868 – 9 February 1957), was a Hungarian admiral and statesman who served as the regent of the Kingdom of Hungary between the two World Wars and throughout most of World War II – from 1 March 1920 to 15 October 1944." He navigated between the monarchists, the communists and the fascists in the aftermath of World War One wherein Hungary lost 72% of her territory by the Treaty of Versailles. He sided with Hitler during World War Two and saw his country suffer devastation and the Holocaust as a result. The pengö, introduced to replace the Austro-Hungarian korona, was inflated to nothing in 1945-46 and replaced by the forint.
