Hungary 1657-KB 1/2 thaler

This specimen was lot 3901 in Sincona sale 39 (Zürich, May 2017), where it sold for 325 CHF (about US$390 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA, Ferdinand III. 1637-1657 Halbtaler 1657. Kremnitz. Sehr schön/vorzüglich. (kingdom of Hungary, Ferdinand III, 1637-57, half thaler of 1657, Kremnitz mint. Very fine/extremely fine.)"
This type was struck for emperor Ferdinand III 1639-57. It is priced only slightly lower than the contemporary thalers (Dav-3198). The mintmark "KB" is just visible on the reverse by the eagle's claws.
