This specimen was lot 74710 in Stack's Bowers May 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $732. The catalog description[1] noted, "HUNGARY. Taler, 1656-KB. Kremnica Mint. Ferdinand III. PCGS AU-53. From the Greyhound Collection." This type was struck without change 1637-61, rendering it one of the more common thalers of the period. Hungary in 1656 was partitioned between the Austrians and the Turks and was not part of the Empire.
