This specimen was lot 34889 in Ponterio sale 177 (Chicago, August 2013), where it sold for $646. The catalog description[1] noted, "HUNGARY. Taler, 1630-KB. Kremnitz Mint. PCGS AU-55 Secure Holder. Ferdinand II (1619-37). Lightly toned with some luster among devices." Hungary in 1634 was partitioned between the Austrians and the Turks and was not part of the Empire. This type was struck 1620-23 and 1630-37 and is noted as common. The Nagybánya mint was also active at this time (Dav-3131).
