Sincona sale 38, lot 2044

This specimen was lot 2044 in Sincona sale 38 (Zürich, May 2017), where it sold for 2,400 CHF (about US$2,878 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Ungarn, Ferdinand I. 1526-1564 Dukat 1562. Kremnitz. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. FDC. (kingdom of Hungary, Ferdinand I, 1526-64, ducat of 1562, Kremnitz mint. Rare in this condition. Uncirculated.)"

Friedberg lists this type for 1527-65. It is the most common Hungarian ducat of Ferdinand's reign.
