This specimen was lot 52318 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $1,920. The catalog description[1] noted, "HUNGARY. Goldgulden, ND (1406)-KR. Kremnica Mint. Sigismund of Luxembourg. PCGS AU-58. Hardly displaying any evidence of wear or handling, even upon the high points, this brilliant and pleasingly struck example serves as an excellent representative of the type. Ex: Bowers & Merena (11/1992) Lot # 2646." The ducats or florins or goldgulden of Hungary are among the more common gold coins of the late middle ages.
