This type was struck 1948-51 for Hong Kong by the Royal Mint. It replaced a nickel coin of 1937-39.

Recorded mintage: 20,000,000 plus proofs.

Specification: 4.53 g, nickel brass, 20.6 mm diameter, security edge.
