Honduras 1852-T G 2 reales
This specimen was lot 21018 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Anaheim, CA, August 2016), where it sold for $646.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "HONDURAS. 2 Reales, 1852-T-G. NGC AU-58. The only piece graded at NGC, and with none submitted at PCGS. Nearly all of the original silver wash still present, a formidable achievement for an issue that is normally encountered in no better than Fine condition. Moderately toned with traces of underlying luster." Two reales were struck intermittently using good silver at Tegucigalpa, Honduras, during 1825-32. Various types of debased silver were issued until 1854. All are scarce and rare in nice condition.
