Honduras 1848-T G 2 reales

Two reales were struck intermittently using good silver at Tegucigalpa, Honduras, during 1825-32. Various types of debased silver were issued until 1854. All are scarce and rare in nice condition. This specimen was part of lot 35435 in Heritage sale 3038 (Dallas, January 2015), which sold for $376. The catalog description[1] noted, "Central American Republic Lot of Nine Provisional 2 Reales Coins, Various dates and grades, some duplication. A most intriguing study group. All come with old Freeman Craig coin tags." This date is also known with "CREZCA" spelled "CREZUA".
