Sedwick sale 25, lot 1090

This specimen was lot 1090 in Sedwick sale 25 (Winter Park, FL, May 2019), where it sold for $351.05. The catalog description[1] noted, "Tegucigalpa, Honduras, low silver 2 reales (provisional), 1847/5G, NGC VF 35. Mostly bold details (lots of leaf details), dark all over but with hint of silver color in fields. NGC #4724563-004." Two reales were struck intermittently using good silver at Tegucigalpa, Honduras, during 1825-32. Various types of debased silver were issued until 1854. All are scarce and rare in nice condition. This variety was issued 1840-47. Overdates 1847/6 and 1847/5 are reported along with the regular date.
