Honduras 1845-T G 2 reales

Two reales were struck intermittently using good silver at Tegucigalpa, Honduras, during 1825-32. Various types of debased silver were issued until 1854. All are scarce and rare in nice condition. This specimen was lot 72410 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Santa Ana, CA, May 2017), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "HONDURAS. 2 Reales, 1845-TG. NGC EF-45. Considerably above average for this normally well worn issue. Nearly full silvering remaining. Provenance: From the Richard Stuart Collection." It was offered again at Stack's Bowers 2017 ANA sale, lot 22552, where it sold for $235. This variety was issued 1840-47. Assayers G and F are noted for 1845.
