Honduras 1831-T F 2 reales

Two reales were struck intermittently at Tegucigalpa, Honduras, during 1825-32. Various types of debased silver were issued until 1854. All are scarce and rare in nice condition. The second specimen was lot 857 in Stack's Coin Galleries sale (New York, December 2009), where it sold for $155.25. The catalog description noted, "CENTRAL AMERICAN REPUBLIC. 2 Reales, 1831 TF. Tegucigalpa. Sun rising behind five volcanoes. Rv. Ceiba tree. Strong Very Fine."

Specification: 6.77 g, 0.903 fine silver, .196 troy oz ASW.
