This specimen was lot 71747 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2021), where it sold for $840. The catalog description[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS. Holland. Ducat, 1742. Dordrecht Mint. NGC MS-62. Quite pleasant and alluring, this nearly-choice specimen dazzles with a fairly even strike and tremendous originality." The type is recorded from Holland 1702-92; each province of the Netherlands issued its own coins. Holland was the largest and wealthiest part of the United Provinces, now the kingdom of the Netherlands.
