Holland 1680 gulden KM-55
This specimen was lot 32216 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $10,800. The catalog description[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS. Holland. Gulden, 1680. Dordrecht Mint. PCGS AU-58. The only representative of this one-year type in the PCGS census, this barely circulated specimen presents a great level of manufacture along with some alluring and enchanting toning. A RARE and impressive offering." The province also struck another one gulden (KM 56, "HAC NITIMVR HANC TVEMVR"), two and three gulden in 1680 (KM 57, 58). The subsequent one gulden of 1681 featured the Dutch maid instead of a lion and that design was used thru the end of the eighteenth century.
