This specimen was lot 4134 in Stack's-Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $646.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS. Holland. Florin, ND (1506-20). Karel V (1506-55). NGC EF Details--Mount Removed. Traces of mount mark on edge." This type was issued prior to the Reformation while Holland was an unimportant corner of the Hapsburg empire and recently inherited from the dukes of Burgundy.
