Hohenlohe-Neuenstein-Weikersheim 1737-N ducat Fr-1337
This specimen was lot 2668 in Sincona sale 26 (Zürich, October 2015), where it sold for 3,600 CHF (about US$4,447 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Hohenlohe-Weikersheim, Grafschaft, Karl Ludwig, 1708-1756 Dukat 1737. Nürnberg Mit N am Armabschnitt (Paul Gottlieb Nürnberger, Stempelschneider und Münzmeister in Nürnberg 1716-1746). Sehr selten. Gutes vorzüglich. (Germany, county of Hohenlohe-Weikersheim, Charles Louis, 1708-56, ducat of 1737, Nuremberg mint. Very rare, good extremely fine.)"
This is the only ducat of this tiny state, which was promoted from county to principality in 1764 and mediatized in 1806.
