Hohenlohe-Neuenstein-Oehringen 1804 10 kreuzer
This specimen was lot 4291 in Künker sale 406 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €170 (about US$223 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"HOHENLOHE-NEUENSTEIN-ÖHRINGEN, GRAFSCHAFT, Ludwig Friedrich Karl, 1765-1805. 10 Kreuzer 1804, Wertheim, geprägt mit den Stempeln des Dukaten. Stempelschneider Anton Paul Dallinger. Hübsche Patina, winz. Schrötlingsfehler am Rand, vorzüglich. (Germany, county of Hohenlohe-Neuenstein-Oehringen, Louis Frederick Charles, 1765-1805, ten kreuzer of 1804, Wertheim mint, struck with ducat dies. Handsome patina, small edge defects, extremely fine.)"
The SCWC lists this as a pattern or off-metal strike of the 1804 ducat (KM 71). It was struck to honor the count's 81st birthday. While it is not common, the ducat and matching double ducat are very rare. They are the last coinage of this state, which was mediatized in 1806.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: silver, this specimen 3,79 g.
