This specimen was lot 1370 in Goldberg Sale 146 (Los Angeles, July 2025), where it sold for $102. The catalog description[1] noted, "German States: Hesse-Darmstadt. 10 Kreuzer, 1717-BIB. Ernst Ludwig, 1678-1739. Commemorating the 200th anniversary of the Reformation. Pop 1; 1 in 40 and 1 in 63; Photo in the PCGS Pop Report. Semi reflective fields. PCGS graded AU-58. The Augustana Collection." This type was struck only in 1717 as a commemorative. Numerous Lutheran states, including Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel, Esslingen, Hamburg. Mecklenburg-Strelitz, Nuremberg, Regensburg, Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg, Saxe-Saalfeld and Stolberg, issued coins on this occasion.
