Hannover 1758-IBH 2/3 thaler KM-286
This specimen was lot 74560 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2023), where it sold for $120. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Hannover. 24 Mariengroschen (2/3 Taler), 1758-IBH. Zellerfeld Mint. Georg II August (George II of Great Britain). PCGS AU-55. A well-struck and attractive example with reflective reverse fields. A small flan flaw in the wild man's chest and right arm are noted for completeness. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." This type was struck 1743-60 and is common. The other gulden struck in 1758 are KM 277 (leaping stallion reverse) and KM 290 (leaping stallion reverse).
