This specimen was lot 73591 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2023), where it sold for $312. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Hannover. 24 Mariengroschen (2/3 Taler), 1722-C. Zellerfeld Mint. Georg Ludwig (George I of Great Britain). PCGS AU-58. Dav-426; KM-112.2; Welter-2241. Boldly struck with argent surfaces and champagne surfaces mellowed by time. An extremely attractive and compelling example that simply continues to draw the eye in appreciation of its combination of strike, preservation, luster, and color. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection. Includes ticket f[ro]m Kuenker." Three different gulden are listed for 1722: KM 100 (1722-HCB, bust obverse, scarce), KM 112.2 (struck 1722-27, shown here) and KM 148 (1722-HCB, leaping stallion). This coin can be catalogued as a 24 mariengroschen or a ⅔ thaler as both are marked on the coin.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: silver.
