Künker sale 263, lot 200

This specimen was lot 200 in Künker sale 263 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €340 (about US$439 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Hamburg, STADT Reichstaler (32 Schilling) 1599, mit Titel Rudolfs II. Münzmeister Jacob Schmidt. RR Hübsche Patina, sehr schön. (Germany, city of Hamburg, thaler of 1599, in the name of Rudolf II, mintmaster Jacob Schmidt. Rare, nice patina, very fine.)"

Davenport notes this type of 1597-99 as rare.
