Künker sale 352, lot 1912

This specimen was lot 1912 in Künker sale 352 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €4,200 (about US$5,845 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"HAMBURG, STADT, Goldgulden 1600, mit Titel Rudolfs II. Münzmeister Claus Flegel. Die Jahreszahl steht am Ende der Rückseitenumschrift. GOLD. Von großer Seltenheit. Sehr schön. Erworben 1936 bei der Firma Julius Jenke, München. (Germany, city of Hamburg, goldgulden of 1600, struck in the name of Rudolf II, with the date at the end of the reverse legend. Extremely rare, very fine. Bought from Julius Jenke in 1936.)"
