This specimen was lot 71021 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, February 2020), where it sold for $528. The catalog description[1] noted, "HAITI. 500 Gourdes, 1977. NGC PROOF-69 Cameo. A commemorative issue, struck upon the 20th anniversary of the founding of the European Common Market." This NCLT (all Haitian gold coins are NCLT's) was also struck 1978. Other 500 gourdes for 1977 include Fr-31 (soccer), Fr-33, Fr-34 (Olympics) and Fr-35 (Duvalier).

Recorded mintage: 207 + 257 proofs.

Specification: 8.5 g, 0.900 fine gold, 0.2460 troy oz AGW.
