This type was struck 1925, 1928-29, 1932-34, 1937-38, 1943-49 at London and Philadelphia (this date) for circulation in Guatemala. All dates are reasonably available tho nice specimens can take some searching. In 1950, the quetzal on the obverse was replaced by a ceiba or kapok tree, which design is still in use, tho no longer in silver.

Recorded mintage: 900,000.

Specification: 1.66 g, 0.720 fine silver, 15.5 mm diameter, reeded edge.
