The first specimen was lot 24465 in Heritage sale 3030 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $1,116.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic gold 5 Pesos 1877-F, MS63 NGC. Types as above. Choice Uncirculated and well struck with full mint brilliance, but some small planchet flaws near the rim. A perfect type coin. Ex. Freeman Craig (5/1978, for $750). From The Isaac Rudman Collection of Guatemala Coins." This type was struck 1872-78; all the dates are scarce and some are rare. The liberty head design also appears on the rare twenty pesos of 1877.

Specification: 8.06 g, 0.900 fine gold, .233 troy oz AGW.
