This specimen was lot 74217 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2022), where it sold for $1,560. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREECE. 10000 Drachmas, 1985. NGC PROOF-68 Ultra Cameo. Commemorating the United Nations 'Decade for Women'. A bright and attractive Proof with hard mirrored fields." This coin is listed in the SCWC as a 10,000 drachmes, which appears to match how it is spelled on the coin. We forgive the auctioneers' error as the spelling is not consistent from issue to issue.

Recorded mintage: 2,835 proofs.

Specification: 7.13 g, 0.900 fine gold, 0.2063 troy oz AGW.
