Sincona sale 86, lot 1850

This specimen was lot 1850 in Sincona sale 86 (Zürich, October 2023), where it sold for 2,000 CHF (about US$2,693 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Elizabeth II. 1952-2022. Proof 5 Pounds 2019, Royal Mint Llantrisant. Gold. 'Tower of London - Legend of the Rave[n]s'. Very rare. Only 385 pieces struck. NGC PF69 ULTRA CAMEO. With original box and certificate. No. 44 of 385 sets."

This design was struck in copper-nickel, silver, silver piedfort and gold.

Recorded mintage: 20,199 in copper-nickel plus 2,864 in silver plus 941 piedforts plus 385 in gold.

Specification: circulation issue: 28.28 g, copper-nickel, 38.61 mm diameter; silver: 28.28 g, 0.925 fine silver; silver piedfort: 56.56 g, 0.925 fine silver; gold version: 39.97 g, 0.917 fine gold, this specimen 39.98 g.
