This specimen was part of lot 1225 in Goldberg's NY International sale 58 (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $3,720. The catalog description[1] noted, "Great Britain. Elizabeth II (1952-2022). Gold Proof Sovereign Four-Coin Collection, 2001. Half-Sovereign, Sovereign, 2 Pound and 5 Pound, Total 1.94 ounces. Royal Mint. In original green case of issue, Certificate of Authenticity #0894. Lot of 4 Coins. Choice Gem Proof." This type was struck in small numbers 1998-2001 and 2003-08.

Recorded mintage: 1,000 plus 1,000 proofs.
