This type was struck 1949-52 for Great Britain after the independence of India forced a change in the king's titles. It is one of the few dates for which proofs are readily obtainable.

Recorded mintage: 14,868,000 plus 20,000 proofs.

Specifications: 5.67 g, bronze, 25.4 mm diameter, plain edge.
