The first specimen was lot 21066 in Heritage sale 3021 (New York, January 2013), where it sold for $2,820. The catalog description[2] noted, "Edward VII Halfcrown 1907, MS65 PCGS, tiny ticks in the silver under bright, dappled iridescent gold toning, with an extraordinary, bold strike, fully lustrous, really rare in this superior quality -- most of the silver coins of this reign are heavily abraded, which occurred during minting and in storage. From The Kairos Collection." The second specimen was lot 178 in William Rosenblum's sale 40j (Littleton, CO, October 2010). This type was struck 1902-10 in substantial numbers but nice specimens are scarce.

Recorded mintage: 3,694,000.

Specification: 14.13 g, 0.925 fine silver, .420 troy oz ASW, 32.3 mm diameter.
